Answering my own post, if you got Login Error after registering the device try add
options ndas_core ndas_dev=wlanX
to your /etc/modprobe.d/options - so it can pick the right interface.

That solved my issue.

( I got the ndas_dev tip here: http://code.ximeta.com/trac-ndas/ticket/666 )

On the other hand, is it supposed to be so slow as compared i.e. with FTP to the device?

Hello there. I made an Ubuntu 7.10 package of ndas-1.1-24 accordling to [1] and it compiled and installed OK but I cannot connect through WLAN (receive Login Error in cat /proc/ndas/devs).

I have checked the ID and key with no success.

Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I installed Ubuntu 9.04 a few days ago. My Ximeta NetDisk just works. I did nothing to add it. It appears as a usb drive under Computer.

Hi ram,

thanks for your compassionate reply - to clarify, this was a day at the time where I was visiting the Google office in Mountain View for my initial training. This is definitely not what a normal day at Google is like for me! Back here in Germany I have a lot more time to play World of Warcraft together with my wife ;-)

i will google you later to know who you are but I enjoyed reading this blog post. however, i did not think a googler's life is this lonely. i was about to ask you, 'don't u have a wife? have u ever thought of marriage?' and then there it was the very end. it makes me happy to read the last lines concerning ur marriage and life but then working for someone since you wake up to ten pm at night and being able to do something you tag "favorite" only after ten pm makes me feel very sad. i have always revered googlers, believed them to be wizards, geniuses but i did not know their real lives was so busy that they were not being able to do things the rest of us take for granted. perhaps being a googler afterall is not that fashionable.. perhaps being a consummate guy in this field (or any field for that matter) is not without sacrifices so extreme... Anyway Manuel, I hope you do not spend all your life like this (i love and admire google though) and wish you give a serious thought about how u want to live ur life.
